After the Falls

A painting made with purpose.

Some paintings begin with a place. This one began with a cause.

After the Falls is a 22×30" original watercolour painted on 300lb Arches rough paper — a landscape of the Elbow Falls area, rendered in the quiet, expansive way that wild Alberta deserves. But this piece carries more than a scene. It was created specifically to support the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation.

This wasn't a coincidence of timing. Before I was even approached about creating this piece, I had crossed paths with someone navigating the hospital's care firsthand. When the opportunity to paint for the Foundation came, it felt like the right answer.

And closer to home, my husband spent many of his childhood years relying on that same care — so saying yes to this felt personal in more ways than one.

The funds raised through the Foundation go directly to the hospital's most pressing needs, helping maintain its standing as a leader in pediatric care — not just for the children it serves, but for the families walking those halls alongside them.

After the Falls will be shown at FATHOM this season, and we hope it will find its forever home through the Candy Cane Gala 2026 — where it may be offered for auction in support of the Foundation.

This piece is not for sale through the studio. It belongs to something bigger.
